ABOUT THE PRINTS

I make my own photographic prints, as I have since my start in photography over 34 years ago. There is an art to printing photographs that many photographers don't practice, it is a crucial step that should not be taken lightly.

Todays technologies provide photographers precise control over the printmaking process, I use state-of-the-art inkjet printers using pigmented ink (Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink) on coated archival rag paper.  Pigmented ink prints are among the most beautiful print materials available today capable of reproducing fine detail, smooth gradation, dense blacks, and rich saturated colors. An extraordinary variety of surfaces are available. I use either a smooth satin, or matte papers for a soft organic appearance. Pigmented ink prints are also among the most stable color prints available. The particular combination of materials we use yields longevity ratings exceeding 175 years before visible fading occurs. My prints are sprayed with Premiere Art’s Print Shield to protect them from the effects of UV light, pollution, and increase their resistance to abrasion. The front of each print is signed and numbered in the wide white border surrounding the print. If ordered framed, the mat is signed and numbered.

Black Matte Framing Style

Our default framing style is a Black Matte solid wood frame with a white 4-ply archival beveled mat, and glass or ultra-clear acrylic glazing. The width of our Black Matte frames varies from 1.25"-2" depending on the size of the print. The width of the matting varies according to the size of the print. Black, off white or accent color mats are available.

Natural wood finish frames

Rich wood tones look great with photographs; contact us about viewing corner samples of dozens of styles. Our Wood frames come with a 4-ply archival beveled mat and ultra-clear acrylic glazing or glass. There is a 10-15% surcharge for Natural wood framing. The surcharge is applied to the framing charges only, not the order total.

Canvas prints can be gallery wrapped or framed without mats, This is a beautiful look for photographs, no glare or glass.

Plexiglas rear mounting provides a contemporary look for photography.  Archival prints are mounted to the back surface of Plexiglas for a sleek and modern look.  Handing blocks on the back keep the print off the wall for a floating look.  Samples are available.

Aluminum Mounting, images mounted to 1/8” raw aluminum for a clean, sleek, industrial look. Great for modern spaces. Satin laminate protection.

Bamboo Mounting, Our new eco-friendly option.  Hand sanded and stained for a beautiful natural look.  Satin Laminate protection
